Chan Yeong Foong (YC) is the Founder and Managing Partner of Y F Chan & Partners, where he leads the Firm's litigation and conveyancing practice while overseeing its strategic growth and professional development. Since establishing the Firm in 2021, YC has built a reputation for delivering practical, commercially focused and results-driven legal solutions to businesses, corporations and individuals.
Prior to founding Y F Chan & Partners, YC was a Partner at Messrs. Lee Gan Teo & Wong, where he gained extensive experience handling complex legal disputes and advising clients on a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters. His experience in private practice has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of both legal and commercial issues, enabling him to provide strategic advice tailored to each client's objectives.
YC's principal area of practice is civil and commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on complex and high-value disputes. Over the course of more than ten years in legal practice, he has represented clients at various levels of the Malaysian courts and has acted in numerous commercial and corporate disputes involving substantial financial claims, including multi-million-ringgit litigation. His approach combines meticulous legal analysis, strategic planning and effective advocacy to achieve practical and commercially sensible outcomes for his clients.
Beyond commercial litigation, YC has extensive experience in a broad range of civil disputes, including contractual disputes, tortious claims, land and property disputes, intellectual property matters, defamation, probate and administration of estates as well as matters involving constitutional and human rights issues. His diverse practice enables him to advise clients on complex legal challenges that often involve overlapping commercial and regulatory considerations.
In addition to his litigation practice, YC is actively involved in conveyancing and real estate transactions. He regularly advises clients on residential, commercial and industrial property transactions, banking and financing facilities, security documentation and related real estate matters. He is also experienced in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring that clients' legal and commercial interests are effectively protected.
As Managing Partner, YC provides strategic leadership to the Firm, maintaining high professional standards while fostering a culture centred on integrity, responsiveness and client service. He remains personally involved in complex and high-value matters, working closely with clients to formulate legal strategies that are commercially practical, legally robust and aligned with their long-term objectives. He is also committed to mentoring junior lawyers and nurturing the next generation of legal professionals within the Firm.

Law Hui Ying (Riley) is a Partner of Y F Chan & Partners, bringing with her substantial experience in civil litigation, conveyancing and intellectual property matters. Riley graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2018. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on May 2019. Prior to joining Y F Chan & Partners as a Partner, she practised with several established law firms in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, where she developed extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious legal matters.
Her principal area of practice is civil litigation with particular emphasis on commercial and corporate disputes. Riley regularly advises and represents clients in a broad spectrum of civil matters, including contractual disputes, land and property disputes, tortious claims, employment-related disputes and family law matters. Throughout her practice, she has acted in numerous complex and highly contested proceedings, representing corporations, high-net-worth individuals and other sophisticated clients in resolving significant legal disputes.
Beyond litigation, Riley has extensive experience in conveyancing and real estate transactions. She advises clients on residential, commercial and industrial property transactions, including developer sales, sub-sale transactions, banking and financing documentation, and related property matters. She is also experienced in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring that legal documentation effectively protects her clients' commercial interests while facilitating practical and commercially viable outcomes.
A distinctive aspect of Riley's practice is her qualification as a Registered Trademark Agent in Malaysia. Chee Kian graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B. (Hons.) from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). In 2015, he commenced his pupillage at Messrs. Paul, Amy Chong & Associates under the guidance of Mr. Paul Krishnaraja. Following his admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, he was retained by the firm as a Legal Associate where he practised exclusively in criminal litigation since 2016.
Goh Chee Kian is specialising exclusively in criminal litigation. With extensive courtroom experience and a steadfast commitment to protecting the rights of his clients, he is recognised for providing strategic, meticulous and principled representation across a broad range of criminal matters.
Over the course of more than ten years in criminal practice, Chee Kian has developed extensive experience handling a wide spectrum of criminal matters, ranging from regulatory and commercial offences to serious and complex criminal prosecutions. He has represented clients throughout every stage of the criminal justice process, including police investigations, remand proceedings, bail applications, trials, sentencing hearings and appellate proceedings.
Chee Kian regularly appears before the Magistrates' Courts, Sessions Courts, High Courts and the Court of Appeal, representing individuals, professionals and corporate clients in matters involving significant legal, financial and reputational consequences.
