Our Story

Y F Chan & Partners was founded in 2021 by Chan Yeong Foong (YC) with the vision of delivering practical, effective and solution-oriented legal services. Subsequently, the Firm welcomed Law Hui Ying (Riley) as a Partner, further strengthening the Firm’s leadership and depth of legal expertise.

Our philosophy is centred on providing comprehensive legal advice and strategic solutions to resolve disputes within the commercial and corporate sectors, while also offering dedicated legal support to individuals in need of professional representation. We place strong emphasis on understanding our Clients’ objectives and delivering legal solutions that are both commercially sound and risk-conscious.

Although relatively young, Y F Chan & Partners is backed by a team of skilled and experienced lawyers with solid practices in civil litigation, conveyancing and criminal litigation. We are committed to delivering amicable, efficient and results-driven legal services, with a focus on effective execution and risk management for our Clients.

The Firm has been recognised for its excellence and dedication in legal practice, having been awarded and shortlisted as one of the Best Litigation Firms in Malaysia by APAC Insider under the APAC Legal Awards 2022. In addition, our Founding Partner, Chan Yeong Foong, has been honoured by British Publishing House with inclusion in the Encyclopedia of Successful People in Malaysia (Fifth Edition), reflecting his professional achievements and contributions to the legal industry.

Y F Chan & Partners is further strengthened by the expertise of our Partner, Riley who is a Registered Trademark Agent. This qualification enables the Firm to provide comprehensive trademark-related services, including trademark searches, registration, prosecution, enforcement, and advisory services.

The presence of a Registered Trademark Agent within the Firm significantly enhances our position, particularly in serving businesses, entrepreneurs and corporations seeking to protect and commercialise their intellectual property. By combining legal expertise with specialised trademark knowledge, we are able to offer Clients integrated and strategic solutions that align with their commercial objectives.

Our trademark capability allows Clients to receive seamless advice on brand protection, risk management and dispute prevention, without the need to engage multiple service providers. This strengthens efficiency, reduces legal risk and ensures consistency in intellectual property strategy from inception to enforcement.

In line with our continued growth and commitment to serving a broader clientele, Y F Chan & Partners is expanding its presence to Kuala Lumpur since 2026. This strategic expansion allows us to better support clients in the Klang Valley and beyond, providing greater accessibility to our legal services and reinforcing our position in Malaysia’s key commercial hub.
